Problem to solve

Every aspect of FMG’s business - clients, houses, buildings, and other insurable assets - has location specific information associated with it. FMG had outgrown its existing spatial tools and their applications were aging. The organisation wanted to ensure that their systems were future proof. This included moving away from multiple sources of data stored in different systems, to a new system with a standardised approach.

FMG needed new applications and infrastructure that would help them turn their location data into intelligence, to continue providing their clients with the quality advice and insurance that they are known for.

OUR approach

We worked through a collaborative discovery phase with FMG to understand their problems to solve, key needs and the outcomes they were looking for. This phase highlighted the need for a fully integrated Location Intelligence Platform hosted in the cloud using Microsoft Azure, with multiple web-based applications. The applications and data would be provided as a service, with HG Digital managing and supporting the platform.

With design, technology, infrastructure, data sources and applications agreed, we delivered the Platform using Agile ways of working: we prioritised features, co-created user stories, iteratively released functionality, and tested the applications with rigour.
