Harrison Grierson makes significant enhancements to parental leave policy
People returning to work at Harrison Grierson after caring for a new family member will now benefit from significant improvements to its parental leave policy.
Harrison Grierson Chief Executive, Karen West says the updates help support people on their parental journey and as they transition back into the workplace.
‘’We want to relieve some of the financial pressure and let parents focus on their new family,’’ says Karen.
‘’We also must stay relevant to the needs of today’s families living and working in New Zealand.
Under the policy, primary caregivers will now receive 22 weeks of leave at full pay on top of any payments made under the government’s 26-week paid parental leave subsidy. Harrison Grierson will also pay KiwiSaver contributions for any unpaid portion of parental leave and continue to pay mobile phone allowances.
In addition, primary caregivers can receive return-to-work coaching as well as dedicated carparks and five extra days New Parents Leave.
‘’It’s a key step in bridging our gender pay gap which currently sits at 13%. We’re committed to closing the gap by pledging to report on our rates of diversity and inclusion in our industry with MindTheGap and The Diversity Agenda,’’ says Karen.
