What some of our graduates have to say

Julia Lovrich

Julia Lovrich

Graduate Engineer,

Water and Wastewater

'I chose HG because of its medium size and good reputation. I didn’t want to feel like another link in the chain and I wanted to work on a variety of projects. Straight away, I was made to feel welcome and valued. People are really friendly and it’s easy to meet new people at Friday night drinks, or at our social functions.

HG’s mentoring programme was incredibly useful, especially in my first six to nine months. My mentor eased the step from university to full time work and answered all my questions about work life in general.'

Kalindu Mendis

Kalindu Mendis

Graduate Engineer,

Land Development

'HG’s provided me with the opportunity to be a well-rounded engineer as I’ve designed and undertaken construction monitoring for structural, drainage and earthworks projects. This includes travelling to our other offices to work on different projects, which I really enjoy.

There’s a work hard, play hard culture here. There’s regular social and team building activities like bowling, paint-balling, quiz nights and weekly sports. Taking part in these has helped me to get to know my colleagues outside work and strengthens our relationships.'

Brittney Sutherland

Brittney Sutherland

Graduate Planner,

Planning

'The best thing about working at HG is the culture and the people it attracts. Colleagues become friends and work doesn’t seem like work at all.

My team and managers support me every day and help me build my skills. Right from the start, I’ve assisted on real projects, including feasibilities and research. And because HG’s multidisciplinary, there’s opportunity for a wide range of learning and career development.'
